The canyons seem to get steeper and more rugged toward the south. Consequently, this most northerly canyon is fairly gradual. The hike is easy and has the spectacular light typical of large Navajo formations -- due to the geology and reflections off the large, smooth surfaces.

This photo is unretouched and a fair representation of the view. Except, of course, Ak is unlikely to be there most days.
