There actually is a bit of sand at some of the 'beaches' but that's not really the point. Most people come here to swim or fish (there's the usualtangle of tackle here and there). 'Fishing,' like 'boating,' is actually a euphemism for 'drinking beer.' Our neighborhood can recyclers could glean a reasonable income here. Note how clear the water is. It's cool and very clean, without the usual odors of a reservoir. In hot weather, I'll bet this is a great place to soak off the heat. Unseen to the left (on the far, shady side of the lake) are 20 or so boats, mostly just sitting in the water. I assume they were simultaneously 'fishing' and 'boating.' The dam is about a half mile behind the photographer. |
