The road to Hanging Gardens parking is paved, but keeps going as a top-grade dirt road, with a "River Access" sign. Huh. So we had to investigate. At the end of the road is a large parking area on a shelf one rock layer above the river. It's fairly trivial to hike to the water's edge through various trails. This is probably the most direct, and definitely the coolest. I really had no idea there was 'lake' access so close to town. The sides of the gorge look quite steep. |
