The hike is about a mile and involves only one ascent that barely merits mention. The average American could manage it with probably no more than 10 huffs, 8 puffs and three reflexive grabs for the remote. This is a view down at the gardens from the top of the ascent. To get there, you just walk down the side of the rock -- seemingly a bit scary to folks unfamiliar with slickrock, inaptly named because it sticks to shoes like they were magnetic. This is supposedly Navajo Sandstone, though I suspect the lowest member is actually Kayenta. |
