After a restful evening at Chez Bruny, we arose for a hike on the North
Island, then headed back on the ferry to zoom north of Hobart where the
Bonorong Wildlife Park could be found. Feeding time for the Devils was
2pm, and this was Mecca for Ak.
I was dubious, but it did sound like a better place than the clip joint
we briefly stopped at on the Tasman Peninsula. So I was game.
Dubious schmubious. Bonorong is wonderful! If you're anywhere near Hobart
you have to get there. Sure it's a roadside attraction: but it's done
more right than any I've seen. And the staff is superb.
Oh, the bird? That's a Cape Barren Goose. You'll see them now and again
with their odd snubbed bills. Friendly, and they like to hang around
parks to steal food. From your hand, actually.
And no that's not a mirror. It's two geese: Harpo and Lucy.
