Okay, maybe it's not such a rustic place after all. Both photos, this and the preceeding, were shot from the same spot. Wrest Point is has the oldest casino in Australia, and therefore is sort of their old Las Vegas. The tower has xmas-type lights on it all night, which is tacky enough to perhaps qualify. Our room is probably fourth from the left on the second floor, if you care. Those are the 'cheap seats' almost -- only the inland rooms with no view are less expensive. Cost was about $120 Australian Dollars per night, which is not unreasonable at all for local prices at the height of tourist season (and if, like us, you're a complete ignoramus from the United States). |
