As we left Wrest Point in the morning, the concierge insisted we must
see the Salmon Ponds. Tasmania raises scads of Atlantic Salmon in
underwater corrals and this is where they are hatched. You can hardly
get through a restaurant without someone cramming some salmon down your
throat.
We were not exactly sure why we should see it with a great park to visit,
so we decided to stop on the way back instead. Good plan except for one
little detail ... it was closed when we got there. So we'll never really
know what it was all about, except that it's clear you could get some
salmon to eat if it were open. And Ak was hungry.
But not, as you can see, too hungry.
