Risking life and limb to get a shot of the wash (best seen at bottom left) that's doing the active Zabrisking. The colors are from oxidized iron and magnesium (and other metals) in volcanic dust that settled to form these strata, which weather very easily. Stick around a few hundred thousand years and this just won't be the same any more. I look forward to seeing the changes. |
