Flying Down Wombat Moor

NEXT

Kind of a complicated trail in places. Ak is showing excellent technique here; note the finger placement. Sort of 'trim tabs' for balance. This is Wombat Moor, where we saw not a single wombat. But we did see moor, which is great fun when you come from a moor-starved place like California. It's spongy, even on the trail (except the rocks of course smarty pants). Note the sudden tree line; plant zones are clearly defined here.
We're near the top of the road in Mount Field National Park, far beyond the usual waterfall attractions. In some ways, this moor was my favorite part. But I liked the rest too.
