Nothing is right in this picture. That's Marble Canyon, and there is nothing even remotely resembling marble (though it is cutting through limestone). That's the colorado (red) river and it sure looks green to me. At the top, Navajo Bridge, which hardly looks like a Navajo. But there was one nearby -- to the right of this picture is the interpretive center where I learned my entire Navajo vocabulary. Someday I'd like to learn the language so I could see Cheyenne Autumn "in the original." |
