We're near or at Opossum Bay, which is kind of the other side of the
Derwent estuary (or perhaps Storm Bay) from Hobart. We'd seen just
about everything else, so on our last day we decided to round it all
out. This is just another picture to show how clear the water is.
There's a really nice little store at Obay that makes a mean Savory
Roll for a good price. Do stop and get one if you're in town.
After this we headed over to Rosny, which has an overlook I wanted to
check out. Not bad; nice view of the Tasman Bridge. After that we
headed into town to find some honey for Pete and finally succeeded
at Salamanca. Tiring of the big town, we headed back to Rosny Park
for dinner at Leo's. Seemed popular with the locals anyway.
One last stop before heading back to the hotel to prepare for the
return flight; Ak wanted to go to Coles for some Violet Crumble and
Disprin, both nearly impossible to get in the US.
At the very last moment, we ran into the lady who'd been so helpful
to us on our first free day, and whose name I never got. We exchanged
pleasantries and she told us about her grandfatherish person owning
half of Bruny island some time back (after we mentioned going
there). Great fun to see her again, and somehow not at all incredible
in Hobart. It's just that kind of place.
I cannot remember any part of Tasmania that I did not like. And, oh,
by the way: that's the point.
