Descending To Platypus Tarn

NEXT

Another kind of trail, also somewhat typical. For a place that has just about everything, anyway. That value of 'typical.' We never actually did get to Platypus Tarn due to water concerns: it's not a good idea to let Ak run short. Bad things happen and she was ill-prepared this day. The steep descent promised a corresponding ascent that might have stretched things too far. So, there went our one chance to see thousands of slithering platypi in the wild. Fortunately, not my fault.
Fun trail anyway with plenty to see. Oh, did I tell you about the snakes? No? Could have been because there weren't any. But if there had been, they would have been venomous because all Tasmanian snakes are.
