Another New Rav pic, but it also gives a good overall impression of Glass Mountain. The easy approach is on the north side, though most four-wheelers can handle the south approach just fine. The ranger at Mammoth Lakes was very dubious that anyone would find Glass Mountain to be of any interest. We have since learned to always check out the places poo-poohed by rangers -- the next one was the red-striped hoodoo zone of the Pariah river, one of the most spectacular sites I've seen anywhere. |
