In terrain that created the postpile it should be no shocker to also find a waterfall, and of course just logical it should be both modest and spectacular at the same time. Once the subject of water comes up it's hard to avoid mentioning that though we are to the east of the highest peaks (where one would think we were on the east side of the Sierra) this stream will actually drain to the west into the central valley. The odd workings of glaciers and erosion have actually cut through the entire batholith. Just add that to the list of curiosities in this place. |
