Alum Rock was popular in the 1920's as part of the Back To Nature thang folks were into then. There are some great old bridges and spa pools along with this central lawny area. But the real park is the surrounding gorge, which is steep and surprisingly beautiful. Some of the hiking area can be seen higher up in the background.
