Just one of those shots I had to shoot, and really not a bad view of the bridges. But (and I'm sure Ak won't get this) it reminded me of the wonderfully moody Sailor cover for Steve Miller's first album. And if you're curious about the color of the stone, yes, it really does look like that. The streaks are rain-washed varnish (usually manganese and iron, I think) over what was originally white sandstone. It takes on the base red color from iron that seeped through it from layers above before they eroded away. |
