After we tired of the actual Bend at Bowknot Bend, we started working our way back up the road, casting about for the isthmus. It wasn't easy, because the river was not visible from the road. But on this particular inspection tour, we succeeded in finding a viewpoint -- what is undoubtedly (now that we've done the search) the finest spot period. And we had to get a hair lucky to find it. Ak really wanted to see it, and now that I have, I know why. |
