Overlooking Alum Rock gorge on the way up the South Rim Trail in late 2001. The overlook is about half way up, and irresistable. Like the lady. Again, this is the park where we got married. It's practically in the City of San Jose (it's a city park, in fact) but you'd never know it from the inside. Its popularity peaked in the 1920s; there are quite a few stone-arch bridges and other constructs from that period in the main meadow. But in five minutes, you can be up the hill in a fairly natural setting. |
