Aside from just going to go, there are two main reasons to get to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. One is to get a look at (and feel for) the Zoroastrian Granite. Since the Hualapai road leads to lower Granite Gorge, it can be assumed there will be some. And here it is.

I think the Zoro granite is an intrusion, something like a dike when it appears in the gorge. But I'm not sure. At any rate, its location is somewhat unpredictable so I was quite pleased to have some easily at hand. This required only a short scramble along the ledges, and was not at all hard to attain. In some places, the river is not easily traversed.

But there's an even better reason to go down there.
