The Wire Canyon slots are not a single canyon at all. They're a series that run basically from the top of a ridge for some fourteen or so miles to the Paria river. Open, close, open, close. And as far as we can tell, no two sections are the same. Heights vary, widths vary, stone hardness and shape varies, colors vary ... it's just one amazing view after another. I was quite pleased with this first section (after about a 3/4 mile walk through dry streambed and sandy soil to get to the first slot). Little did I know. |
