But where the asphalt ended, so did any semblance of a trail. It turns out the only way to slug your way up the narrows is to basically just dive right in.

That water is not ice cold -- it's just plain-old cold, about like tap water from the sink in spring. In other words, enough to make your feet go numb in a couple of minutes.

There's no sun in this narrow slot of canyon.

Oh well, how bad can it be?
